Global Future Fit Seal Honors Three Innovative Government Projects at WGS 2026

Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, conferred the prestigious global Future Fit Seal on three cutting-edge government initiatives during the inaugural day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2026 in Dubai. This highly competitive international commendation recognizes government projects that exhibit exceptional foresight, practical readiness, and tangible outcomes in tackling rapidly evolving global challenges, showcasing a commitment to future-proof governance models across sectors.

The accolade ceremony, which took place on February 5, 2026, during the summit held from February 3–5, was attended by Her Excellency Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Vice-Chair of the WGS, alongside prominent international government leaders. The second cycle of the Global Future Fit Seal saw three winners selected from a field of over 1,500 projects submitted by more than 100 countries, underlining the rigorous selection process and global reach of the initiative.

Recognizing Proactive Government Leadership

Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi emphasized that the global Future Fit Seal serves to celebrate proactive leadership and governance that actively enhances global resilience and readiness for tomorrow’s realities. She highlighted that the initiative reflects the UAE’s core commitment to embedding future readiness into governance structures, aligning perfectly with the WGS’s mission as a crucial global forum for knowledge sharing and the development of future-focused solutions.

The criteria for the Seal focus rigorously on quantifying results and collecting data-driven outcomes. Projects must demonstrate real, measurable impacts at sectoral, national, or global levels. The recognized initiatives span six critical future priority sectors: the new economy, advanced technology, sustainability, Fourth Industrial Revolution sectors, food and water security, and enhancing quality of life.

Award-Winning International Initiatives

The three groundbreaking projects recognized for their future-ready approaches epitomize innovation and strategic use of advanced technology:

1. Diella, Minister of Artificial Intelligence – Republic of Albania
Albania’s Diella is a landmark achievement, earning the distinction as the world’s first AI-powered minister operating within governmental structures. This trailblazing model utilizes artificial intelligence to support high-level government decision-making processes, including tendering analysis, financial reviews, and regulatory checks. Diella signifies a profound strategic shift toward AI-enabled governance, aiming to boost efficiency, transparency, and national competitiveness. The award was accepted by Her Excellency Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation.

2. Busan Port – Republic of Korea
The transformation of Busan Port into a fully automated smart port showcases the power of integrated advanced technologies. The project incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, big data logistics systems, and robust blockchain-based documentation. Notably, the implementation of a Digital Twin Logistics platform has seamlessly integrated maritime and land transport networks. This systemic overhaul has yielded significant gains in operational efficiency, dramatically reducing costs and solidifying the port’s position as a global logistics hub. His Excellency Jeong Wondong, Vice President of the Management Division at Busan Port, accepted the accolade.

3. National Precision Medicine Programme – Republic of Singapore
Singapore’s forward-thinking initiative integrates clinical, lifestyle, environmental, and genomic datasets to revolutionize public health. The program facilitates early disease detection, enables highly targeted treatments, and bolsters preventive healthcare strategies. Having progressed through multiple phases, including large-scale genome sequencing across diverse population groups, this program firmly positions Singapore as a world leader in data-driven medical research and actionable precision health. Her Excellency Dr. Seow Shih Wee, Senior Director of Corporate Services at Precision Health Research Singapore – PRECISE, received the Seal.

The Future Fit Mandate

Initially launched as a national symbol within the UAE government, the Future Fit Seal recognizes local and federal projects that demonstrate proactive readiness and leverage advanced technologies and future skills to achieve clear, measurable results in key priority sectors.

The expanded global edition, launched during WGS 2025, underscores the Summit’s role in exporting global best practices. By honoring governments that actively anticipate and shape the future—rather than just reacting to it—the Global Future Fit Seal reinforces the essential role of technological innovation and proactive policy in building a resilient international community. The recognition of these projects provides vital models for governments worldwide seeking to enhance their capacity, competitiveness, and service delivery in an increasingly complex environment.
